Logan County Parish Council Update 4/6

Greetings Parishioners,

When Beacons of Light began in 2022, we combined the St. Mary of the Woods and St. Patrick Parish Councils together into one council. We chose six representatives from each parish to serve on the council and to help guide our family through the transition period. The Champaign County churches also formed a council with representatives from each of their four churches.

Now that we are through the initial transition time, our Logan County Parish Council is finalizing a new, more permanent, Code of Regulations. We will be implementing 3-year terms for members that will begin on July 1st. Terms will be staggered so that four council members will come to the end of their term each year. New members will be selected by the pastor and approved by a majority vote of the council.

If you would like to recommend someone for consideration to serve on the Parish Council, please submit name(s) to me or to the Parish Office by the end of April. I am grateful for the feedback and guidance I receive from our Parish Council members, and I look forward to welcoming our new members this July!
